Local Plan Review and Housing Allocations in and around Bridgnorth – Mayor encourages the public to respond

Bridgnorth Mayor, Councillor Kirstie Hurst-Knight has asked residents to take advantage of an extra period of consultation on plans for future development across the County but in particular those in the Bridgnorth Area. Cllr Hurst-Knight says
“Shropshire Council have announced that they will have a further period of public consultation on the Local Plan Review which includes site allocations for housing and employment land in and around Bridgnorth. Bridgnorth Town Council had asked Shropshire Council to extend the public consultation and make available to the public some additional documentation before producing a final recommendation on how much and where development occurs. The most high profile matters for us surround the potential allocation of large parcels of land outside of the Town (either at Stanmore and Tasley) as ‘Garden Villages’. It seems our comments to have a proper say outside of the Covid-19 lockdown did not fall on deaf ears.
The extra period of public consultation is due to begin on 3rd August and will run through to the end of September 2020. Residents are encouraged to have their say via the Shropshire Council website https://shropshire.gov.uk/planning-policy/local-planning/local-plan-partial-review-2016-2036/ which we understand will be updated on 3rd August."
