Bridgnorth Future Connectivity Plan
Shropshire Council are seeking local residents’ views on a number of potential projects for Bridgnorth in the coming months and years. Details of which can be found via the following link (insert link). We would encourage residents to respond to the survey via the link. The Town Council has not committed to any of the projects nor considered them in any great detail. It will in due course likely provide its own views on some or all of the potential projects.

Bridgnorth Flood Action Working Group
Events & Christmas Committee Meeting Tuesday 21st September 2021
At last night’s meeting of Bridgnorth Town Council’s Events & Christmas Committee the committee discussed a number of matters including:
- Arrangements for Remembrance Sunday 14th November 2021 – This year will see some changes to recent years events in that the parade will start at Northgate and finish at Castle Grounds and will take place before the 11 O’clock service by the war memorial, following which, there will be a service in St Mary’s Church.
- Christmas Light Switch-on Friday 19th November 2021 – The High Street will be closed from midday through to 9pm on Friday 19th November to allow stall holders and entertainers to set up and trade. The official switch on will take place at 6pm.
- Bridgnorth Carnival 2022 – The Town Council has committed to support the Volunteer Carnival Committee which plans to hold the Bridgnorth Carnival on Friday 3rd June 2022 (which coincides with the Platinum Jubilee extended bank holiday)
- HM Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee – The Committee were keen to have a suitable event in addition to the Carnival to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee and Councillors Sarah Barlow have volunteered to organise a suitable event.

RAF Shawbury Night Flying Notice
No.1 Flying Training School, based at RAF Shawbury, will be conducting essential night flying training from Monday 13th September 2021 for approximately 6 weeks. Crews will operate from RAF Shawbury throughout Low Flying Area 9, covering Shropshire and the borders of adjacent counties.
No.1 Flying Training School trains and prepares the next generation of helicopter aircrew ready for frontline service in the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force. Night flying is an essential skill needed for front-line operations, enabling Aircrew to operate in the dark. Aircrew will train using Night Vision Devices, like those used on operations in hostile environments and for supporting emergencies in the UK and abroad.
