From Tuesday, 17 July, 2018, patients across Shropshire who need urgent out-of-hours medical help or advice will need to call 111.
The NHS 111 service will replace the current out-of-hours telephone access service provided by Shropdoc in line with national policy to provide a consistent, integrated approach to urgent care; but any patients that need to see a clinician out-of-hours will still be seen by a local GP or other appropriate clinician.
In order to help us inform patients of the change we would like to ask for your support in displaying and sharing the following resources:
- Press release
- Display poster
- Digital PowerPoint slide
- Content for patient newsletters
- Web banner
- Website content
Patients in Wales should continue to use the Shropdoc number until NHS 111 is launched in Powys by the end of the year.
For any queries please contact the Shropshire CCG Communications and Engagement Team by email [email protected] or call 01743 277515

The following has been forwarded from Shropshire Council regarding a parking consultation which is currently taking place:
I’d like to bring to your attention Shropshire Council’s additional parking consultation which you may wish to read and comment on.
Part 1 of Shropshire Council’s new parking strategy – which considers issues relating to provision of, and payment for, on-street and off-street parking - was approved in January 2018 following a 12-week public consultation in 2017. We are now carrying out a further consultation on a small number of additional proposals.
We are consulting on a range of proposals focussed on four towns, and – in most cases – on specific groups within each of these towns. We are therefore particularly inviting responses from these groups, though we welcome views from anyone with an interest in these matters.
I have attached a copy of the questionnaire which you are welcome to complete and return to us. Alternatively you can complete the survey online at www.shropshire.gov.uk/get-involved or email your comments to us at [email protected]
We are also holding a number of drop in sessions next week which you are welcome to attend if you have any questions or would like to talk to an officer about the proposals:
- Monday 14th May, 3pm – 6pm, Bridgnorth Library, History Room.
- Wednesday 16th May, 1pm-4pm, Ludlow Library Education Room.
- Thursday 17th May, 12pm-3pm, Darwin Shopping Centre, situated within the vacant shop to the right hand site of Costa Coffee,(at the back of M&S).
The consultation runs from 10 May until the 7 June 2018 so please return your comments to us by this date to ensure they are included in our decision making process.
Please feel free to share this invitation if you think it appropriate to do so,
Note: From 9 to 30 May 2018 we are also consulting formally on the Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) that will allow Part 1 of the parking strategy to be implemented. For more information go to www.shropshire.gov.uk/get-involved. The TRO consultation does not include any proposals that may be subject to change due to any of the additional proposals that form part of this consultation.
